Newport Library

The Newport Library and Community Center, located at 405 7th Avenue, provides multiple programs for children and adults including, monthly crafts, book clubs, adult craft groups, movie events, tutoring, family story times, and PAWS to Read. All programs are offered without charge.  Services available include public computers, printing, photocopying, scanning, small laminations, and wireless internet access. Holdings available for checkout include books, audio books, DVDs, magazines, games, and puzzles. Residents may also reserve space in the library to hold meetings.

The Library and Community Center is staffed by volunteers. These volunteers give a minimum of two hours a month to this community. Volunteers serve as librarians, assisting patrons and answering questions. All volunteers are required to complete an application and background check.  Please contact 651-459-9631, library@newportmn.gov, or stop in at the library to start the process and join our volunteer team.

Washington County Library System- Library Express
Washington County installed a kiosk at the Newport Transit Station, 250 Red Rock Crossing, for residents to utilize for checking out items through the Washington County Library system. Residents can reserve items online at www.co.washington.mn.us/library. Once a resident's items are ready, they may pick them up and drop them off at the Transit Station.
